  3. Introduction of Complete Slitting Production Line

In metal processing, coil width, inner diameter, and outer diameter are always important parameters to understand, as they influence the selection of processing equipment. With the development of technology, people are increasingly demanding higher processing efficiency and product quality. This article will explore the components and main features of complete slitting production lines.

What is Complete Slitting Production Line

A complete slitting production line is used to cut a single wide coil of material into multiple coils of the same width, which are then rewound. Processable materials include aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, and carbon steel. This production line achieves fully automated control from uncoiling to rewinding, featuring precise material positioning, stress relief, rapid blade changing with a dual-blade unit, and quick coil changing. The compact design and automation significantly reduce the need for manual intervention.

Components

1. Decoiling and Leveling Machine

Decoiling and leveling machines decoil and level the coil to be processed, eliminating a small portion of the stress, which is beneficial for subsequent cutting. Sometimes, a feeder can be used to help control the feeding speed and accuracy. If there are no high requirements, you can choose not to add a feeder.

2. Slitting Device

The slitting device consists of rollers with multiple blades, generally referred to as cutter shafts. A typical slitting line will have at least two slitting devices. The first is located at the slitting section after leveling and feeding, where cutting is performed by two cutter shafts, one above the other. The gap between the upper and lower cutter shafts will affect product quality. The second is located at the take-up section, used to remove burrs from the rolled material. The number of cutter shafts can be adjusted according to actual production needs.

3. Tension Device

Applying tension to the material allows for more stable processing. Providing tension during feeding facilitates cutting. Applying tension to the sheared material allows for adjustment of the material spacing, facilitating material collection.

4. Waste Collection Machine

The sides of the rolled material often have rough edges, which are cut off during the slitting process to ensure quality.

The waste rewinder is responsible for collecting and winding up these rough edges.

5. Winding Machine

The cut strips of material are wound up and collected by the winding machine, making it easy to unwind and flatten them for the next processing.

Main Features

1. High Flexibility

The blade mechanism of the slitting device can be quickly adjusted to cut rolls of material into different widths, meeting the production needs of various specifications.

2. High Efficiency

The slitting production line not only boasts high production speed but also achieves automation, making the operation more convenient.

3. High Material Quality

After slitting, a cutter shaft can be set to deburr the rolls, improving the overall surface quality.

In summary, complete slitting lines are designed to produce multiple high-quality narrow coils. While rolls of different widths can be customized, the cost and convenience are not as high as using a slitting line.
