Difference Between Connecting Rod Type Manipulator Stamping Line and Independent Manipulator Stamping Line

In modern stamping production, the use of automated equipment has greatly improved production efficiency, reduced labor costs, and ensured product consistency and precision. Translational robotic stamping lines, as an important automation solution, are widely used in industries such as home appliances, automobiles, and hardware. Based on their motion, it can be divided into two types: independent manipulator and connecting rod type manipulator. They are very similar; this article will explore the differences between them.

1. Motion



The translation of the connecting rod type manipulator is achieved by driving the connecting rods. The manipulator is fixed on the rods to achieve mechanical synchronization, with movements being basically fixed. The translation of the independent manipulator can be controlled independently, allowing the path to be adjusted according to different situations.

2. Machining



The simple and fixed structural design of the connecting rod type manipulator makes it primarily suitable for single-specification, small- to medium-sized processing. The independent manipulator, on the other hand, can handle small- to medium-sized processing of different specifications. The driving force of the connecting rod type manipulator is concentrated at the two ends, which, compared with the independent servo system of the independent manipulator, allows for higher speeds and better adaptability to high-cycle production.

3. Cost

To achieve independent and precise control, the independent manipulator is equipped with a servo drive system. Equipping each manipulator with a servo drive system represents a significant investment. Compared with the independent manipulator, the connecting rod type manipulator has a simpler structure, and therefore its cost is lower.

4. Operation and Maintenance

Independent manipulators can be adjusted independently and are used in conjunction with a servo system; proficient operation requires a certain level of experience. During maintenance, each manipulator needs to be checked and calibrated individually, resulting in a large workload. In contrast, the connecting rod type manipulator, with its simpler structure, is easier to operate and requires less maintenance.

In summary, although the two are very similar, the independent manipulator stamping line excels in flexibility and allows for more adjustments. The connecting rod type manipulator stamping line, on the other hand, stands out for its lower cost and higher speed. A suitable choice should be made according to one's actual production needs.
