In tandem stamping production lines, the independent manipulator stamping production line and the C-type independent manipulator stamping production line are two common types. On the surface, they appear very similar. Although their motion patterns and control principles are almost identical, they are applied to different scenarios due to their different structural designs. Next, we will explore the differences between them.


Appearance

To distinguish between the two by appearance, we can observe the side and crossbar of the manipulator. If you can see the C-shaped track on the side, that's a C-type independent manipulator. The crossbar of an independent manipulator is relatively short, while that of a C-type is relatively long.

There's a reason for this. Medium and large-sized stamping presses are bulky, and there's a certain distance between the die and the robotic arm. To accurately place the workpiece into the die, the length of the manipulator crossbar needs to be correspondingly increased. The longer crossbar, combined with the weight of medium and large-sized workpieces, necessitates a stronger load-bearing capacity. Therefore, the overall manipulator design allows for vertical movement, while the crossbar only needs to move horizontally.

1. Manipulator

The independent manipulator typically handles smaller and lighter sheet metal, while the C-type manipulator can handle larger and heavier sheets.

2. Destacking

Due to the smaller and lighter size of the stacks and the shorter changeover time, independent manipulator stamping production lines generally use single-station destacking. C-type independent manipulator stamping production lines handle relatively larger and heavier stacks, often employing dual-station destacking to avoid production interruptions.

3. Stamping Machine

Based on the sheet metal being handled, independent manipulator stamping production lines often use small stamping machines, while C-type lines typically use medium to large stamping machines.


Application Areas

Independent manipulator production lines are mainly used for continuous stamping production of small to medium-sized workpieces. Home Appliance Industry: Small and medium-sized appliance housings (microwave ovens, rice cookers), brackets. Electronics Manufacturing: Electronic product housings, plugs.

C-type independent manipulator production lines are mainly used for continuous stamping production of medium to large-sized and heavy-duty parts. Automotive Industry: Door panels, chassis, hoods. Home Appliance Industry: Large appliance housings (washing machines, refrigerators).


In general, independent manipulator stamping production lines are mainly used for processing small sheet metal, while C-type independent manipulator stamping production lines are used for processing medium and large sheet metal. Independent manipulators offer faster speeds and lower costs. C-type independent manipulators ensure greater stability and load-bearing capacity during production, avoiding instability caused by the weight of large workpieces.
