Understanding Three Different Types of Stacking System in Coil Blanking

In the coil blanking line, after blanking, the sheets need to be stacked neatly for storage or for the next production step. The stacking system can affect the quality of the sheets and production efficiency to a certain extent. This article will help you understand three different stacking systems: gravity deceleration stacking, gravity non-deceleration stacking, and magnetic stacking.
Gravity Deceleration Stacking System
Overview

The gravity deceleration stacking system has only a single conveyor. After the sheets reach the end, they naturally drop onto the stacking trolley and are then aligned by tapping.
Features
1. Simple structure, relatively low cost, and easy maintenance.
2. Can only finish the single-stack.

3. Because it can only finish the single-stack, stacking is theoretically not possible during trolley replacement. To avoid or minimize downtime, a sheet fork can temporarily replace the trolley for stacking, and the blanking speed needs to be reduced. Once the trolley is replaced, the sheet stack is moved back onto it.

Gravity Non-Deceleration Stacking System
Overview

The gravity non-deceleration stacking system has two conveyor paths, with a short section of the main conveyor belt that can swing up and down, allowing for alternating use of the two paths.
Features
1. Dual conveyor paths ensure continuous stacking. In most cases, there is no need to slow down.
2. Stacking of two different types of sheet materials can be performed alternately (such as oscillating shear blanking).

Magnetic Stacking System
Overview

The magnetic stacking system uses a magnetic belt to attract and transport sheets to a designated position. The control system then cancels out the magnetism of a permanent magnet at this point, causing the sheet to fall onto a stacking trolley and be centered and stacked.
Features
1. Freely controllable stacking and release position of the sheet.
2. Can stack two different types of sheets at the same time (such as oscillating shear blanking).
3. Vertical release of sheet materials reduces collisions and surface damage, making it suitable for stacking outer panel sheets with high surface finish requirements.
