Problems and Solutions of Coil Feeding

Coil feeders are very common in material stamping. The driving methods of feeders can be divided into mechanical linkage and servo motor. Working Principle

The feeder performs different actions based on signals received from the press. Relaxation methods can be divided into mechanical relaxation and pneumatic relaxation. When the press rises, the rollers clamp the coil, and the feeder advances the material. When the press descends, the rollers release the coil, and the press completes one stamping operation.

Feeding Position Deviation



Feeding position deviation occurs when the feeder centerline does not align with the processing centerline, ultimately affecting product quality. Deviation may happen if the material slips during transport due to worn or oily rollers. In this case, clean or replace the rollers. Adjusting the limit rollers can also correct the material entry position, ensuring accurate feeding into the press.

Inaccurate Feeding Length



Insufficient roller clamping pressure can cause unstable feeding. For mechanically released feeders, check and adjust the pressure spring mechanism. For pneumatically released feeders, check and adjust the air pressure system. Worn or oily rollers can cause slippage, affecting the feeding pitch. Cleaning or replacing the rollers can help resolve this issue.

Coil Surface Damage

If the coil surface is damaged after passing through the feeder, first check whether there are foreign objects on the rollers. Soft materials are more prone to damage, and using soft rubber rollers can effectively solve this problem. Excessive roller pressure can also cause surface damage, so inspect and adjust the corresponding pressure devices as needed.
