Application of Coil Processing and Metal Stamping Technology in the Consumer Electronics Industry

As consumer electronics become thinner and more precise, higher demands are placed on processing accuracy and production efficiency. Metal stamping is applied to the production of components such as casings, structural parts. However, obtaining high-quality metal strips or sheets before stamping is also an important issue. Next, we will discuss the coil processing and metal stamping technologies used in the consumer electronics industry.
Coil Processing
Slitting Production Line
Overview
(Here is the circular shear; the spacing between the circular blades can be adjusted.)
Consumer electronics products are mostly small to medium in size. They are typically produced using coils with widths ranging from 20 to 600 mm. The slitting production line can slit a wide coil into narrow coils for subsequent processing.
Features
By adjusting the spacing of the cutting blades, narrow coils of varying widths can be obtained to meet different product specifications.
(Here is the slitting production line. You can see a wide coil being slit into multiple narrow coils.)
Precision Straightening
Overview
Metal Coil requires straightening before stamping. Current consumer electronics products are trending towards thinner and lighter designs. Therefore, the thickness of the metal sheets usually used ranges from 0.2 to 1.3 mm, which is generally quite thin. They have low yield strength and are highly sensitive to deformation. For precision leveling of thin sheets, excessive leveling force and pressure must be avoided to prevent excessive metal strip deformation.
Features
(Here is the 4-point accuracy adjustment device.)
1. Numerous straightening rollers with small diameters; straightening adjustment accuracy is 0.01mm, displayed by a dial indicator.
2. The upper straightening rollers are liftable for easy cleaning, preventing impurities from scratching the coil surface.

Metal Stamping
Progressive Die Stamping Production Line
Overview
Progressive die stamping completes multiple processes (such as punching, forming, and blanking) sequentially within the same die according to the feeding pitch, ultimately yielding the finished product. Used for the mass production of small-sized parts, such as USB interfaces, battery tabs.
Features
High speed, high product consistency.
(Here is the progressive die stamping production line. You can see the 3-in-1 decoiler straightener feeder. In the consumer electronics industry, if the budget is limited, you can choose to use a separate decoiler and straightener, or a 2-in-1 decoiler straightener, used in combination with a coil feeder.)
Independent Manipulator Tandem Stamping Production Line
Overview
(Here is the independent manipulator.)
The independent manipulator tandem stamping production line consists of multiple presses and independently movable manipulators connected in series. Used for the production of metal panels or casings, such as computer chassis casings, mobile phone metal panels, and tablet computer casings.
Features
1. Each station is independent and can be adjusted according to different products.
2. Suitable for the production of parts with relatively complex structures and many processes, meeting the needs of small to medium-sized processing of consumer electronics products.
(You can see independent manipulator production line, connecting rod type manipulator production line in this video. )
